Lots of Weiss Kreuz drabbles I was writing drabbles for the wk_100 Christmas exchange. My prompt was Farfarello/Aya, AU setting; Some Aya/Farfarello AU's posted on wk_100: continuation of Of course, Takatori-sama, With a little help from my friends and an art AU, Work of Art and a Schwarz AU, Then there were five. Anyway, there's a third AU that kind of keeps multiplying and I now have drabbles that don't even fit the challenge :o. So I'm posting them here instead. OK, enough words - the intro: Title: One down, two to go Fandom: Weiss Kreuz Rating, Warnings, Notes: PG for this part, for off screen violence. AU (not the "there are cowboys in the 18th century Western America that go to high school and meet Martians" but more of "some - more than one - events turned out differently. Let's sing! I got sent this Youtube link and now I'm a bit addicted (earworm ftw). I think I'll go to their concert... I liked the original song (Toto's Africa), but that one wasn't so addictive. I don't think it even has much to do with the music, it's just that they and it, the song itself, seems so unbelievably happy.

Coffee and Cartoons I was looking for a collection of songs to answer a meme on youtube and I accidentaly found something completely else. I don't follow new films and shows much, so I missed this one (not that it was something large, even here). But, it's a cartoon based on one of my favourite songs/poems, Čikorja 'an kafe (Chicory 'n' Coffee), by Iztok Mlakar, which tells a story about a married couple through a perspective of dringing more or less real coffee.
The couple is identified in the song just as "granddad and grandma" and on the wedding day he tells her "you'll always make me only real coffee" (that was a rather precious commodity in that time and age). And the obediand wifey (who prefers drinking a less bitter and cheaper coffee substitute herself) readily agrees. Except coffee is very hard to come by and one day there's none to get. So she asks God for a forgivness for a small deception and presents her husband with a coffee substitute. Which he from then on happily drinks, believing it's "real coffee". And when she eventually dies, he keeps repeating how no one can prepare as fine coffee as "His late wife" did, no matter how everyone tries, with all the best blends and proper procedures.
Of course, the song/story is really not about coffee, but more about human relationships.
Anyway, now there's a cute cartoon to go with it (this is just a trailer, but it's a good summary and it has English subtitles).
